Sunnyside Baptist Church receives four special offerings each year to suuport national and international ministries and missionaries. There is a missions focus on one of these four ministries for an entire month, and a special offering is collected on the last Sunday of that month. The four offerings are:

Retired Ministers and Missionaries (For more information, click here)

Since 1935, American Baptists have contributed to special offerings received in their churches for retired ABC ministers and missionaries or their widowed spouses. The Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering (RMMO) was established in 1977.

Through this annual offering, American Baptist congregations say thank you in a tangible way to the denomination’s retired ministers and missionaries or their widowed spouses. The offering provides them with:
• Emergency and other financial assistance, based on financial need; and
• “Thank You” checks, based on 15 or more years of ABC service.

One Great Hour of Sharing  (For more information, click here)

One Great Hour of Sharing is an offering that makes the love of Christ real for individuals and communities around the world who suffer the effects of disaster, conflict, or severe economic hardship, and for those who serve them through gifts of money and time.

America For Christ (For more information, click here)

The America for Christ (AFC) Offering is used to spread the Good News of God’s love across the United States by ... preaching the gospel, ... planting churches, ... and ministering to those in need. The offering is used as follows:
• 29% goes to regions
• 59% goes to ABHMS
• 12% goes to the offering’s promotional costs

Since 1832, American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS)
equip and network Christ-centered leaders and to transform persons,
congregations, communities and cultures.

World Mission Offering (For more information, click here)

The World Mission Offering is the single largest source of the financial support for American Baptist Churches International Ministries, and gifts go 100% to make disciples of Jesus Christ internationally. Contributions support global projects, Christian partners (including churches, schools and hospitals), and missionaries in more than 70 countries around the world.

The offering supports the work of:
• Over 1,600 volunteer and short-term missionaries
• 110 long-term missionaries
• 13 mission special assistants
• Over 151 partner mission workers.

The World Mission Offering is gave special attention to Haiti in 2010. The World Mission Offering was more crucial than ever to sustain those ministries .
